Although
content of the NEWS and
postage have increased, we have still maintained the cost of your
membership at £3 for 2006. However, from 21 August 2006 mail
will
be costed according to the depth, height and width of an envelope! So
we shall seriously have to think about having the 2007 NEWS in a
smaller format, say A5, (half A4, the present size). Membership will
inevitably have to increase after our AGM in November, so if you sub is
overdue, it would be a good idea to renew it as soon as possible. Many,
many thanks to Mo Hutchings for typing the first draft through
another heatwave, which encourages me to get on with it; her first
draft is usually around 16pp; by the time it is finished at is around
34! My grateful thanks to Kate Force who somehow managed to proof read
this at short notice with a house full of grandchildren!. Also to Nigel
Power and my husband for 2nd and 3rd proof reads. There will still be
some errors that slip through, but Hey! , we are not a professional
publisher!
Keep the news coming, especially from former staff , your wellbeing is
always the subject of enquiries..

The pilot issue in 1998 proved enormously popular. The latest
update (No 7) went on sale in October 2003 and is available
from
Mary Thomas (Editor). It contains names, addresses, telephone
numbers and email addresses of all members (unless any member
specifically requests otherwise). All members are asked to
let me
know as soon as possible if they prefer not to have an entry in their
name or prefer to omit telephone numbers, e.g. where they have an
ex-directory number.
